[The Mill X SANM 560] Week 7

This week's main goal for our team was developing the retro environment and continuing the look development and lighting for the scenes.

I have been researching additional references for the environment and lighting, and tweaking lighting for shot 2 based on the feedback from last week and our new texture on the retro vespa model.

These were the reference images I researched for the environment and backlit lighting, and since we received feedback to create pools of lighting, I found this image to be interesting to do, and we decided to create an archway on the bridge in the background to get lighting and the environment more interesting.



Since our other teammate was working on the environment, it was not able to implement the light to the actual render this week, but next week we will make sure to get the environment and textures settled down also along with the adjusted light. This is the still render of the lighting I tweaked over for shot 2.



I tried to decrease the fall off of the backlit light, and create pools of light by adding trees on the back, and also decreased the cone angle of the lamp light in the shop front. Since our new vespa model textures was not catching enough rim light compared to the temporary textures previously, I tried to add another spot light in the opposite side of the shop as a street lamp, adding on the rim light to the vespa.


In the following week, my goal will be adjusting lighting for shot 1 since I didn't have enough time to adjust it with time mostly spent on shot 2, and lighting and look development for the modern vespa environment in shot 3.
